Class Policies and FAQ's
Class Fees/Registration
Register early, as class space is limited. Payment must be received prior to class to guarantee a spot. Please remember that if payment is not made, you are NOT registered for your class.
You may call, fax or email your credit card info, send in a check, or come into the store. Once you pay for your class, you will receive a supply list. If you have required supplies at home, by all means, bring them. If not, we would appreciate it if you would purchase the supplies from us. We'll offer you a 10% discount on the fabric, tools, and other class supplies purchased from The Attic Window Quilt Shoppe.
Cancellation Policy
We have a 7 day cancellation policy. If you cancel 7 days in advance, your class fee can be transferred to another class or be used as store credit. If you cancel in less than 7 days, you forfeit your fee.
Student Minimum
We do require a minimum of 3 participants for each class. If we must cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, we will notify you 5 days prior to the beginning of class. At that time, you will be given the choice of picking another class, store credit, or a refund.
Parking
You are welcome to pull to the front of the store to unload your machine and sewing supplies (and please feel free to ask us for assistance in lifting heavy machines!). Once you have unloaded we ask that you move your car to the back parking lot or next door behind the Grocery Outlet so that we may save the front spaces for in and out customers during the day.
Classroom Conduct
-Please turn off your cell phone or put it on "silent". If you need to use your cell phone, please step away from the classroom BEFORE beginning your conversation.
-Please do not bring children or guests to class without prior permission.
-Please be respectful of the space provided. Depending on the class, you may have a table to yourself or may be sharing a table with others.
-Please be on time. If you are late, please catch up quietly.
-Because many people have allergies and sensitivities, please don't wear strong perfumes.
We think classes should be fun and educational for everyone. This means keeping interruptions and distractions that make it difficult for students to interact with each other and the instructor to a minimum.
Classroom Availability/Suggestions
When classes are not in session, the classroom is available for quilters to use at no charge. Please call ahead to let us know you're coming.
Consider creating your own retreat with friends! If there is a particular quilt instructor, technique or class you would like us to offer please let us know! Don’t see a class that fits your schedule? We would be happy to schedule a class for 3 or more people at a time that fits your schedule. Just grab some friends and give us a call.
Class Tool Rental Plan
We are pleased to announce that most classes at The Attic Window Quilt Shoppe that include the use of a specialty tool will now have a tool rental option so you can "try before you buy". If there is a recommended tool for your class, the class description will include the name of the tool, its cost, and the optional rental price for the tool. The rental plan will allow the use of the tool in class. You may have to share with another person, but we guarantee one tool or tool set for every two students. The full rental price can be applied to the purchase of the tool on class day.
We sometimes have sewing machines available for your use during classes. If you wish to use a classroom machine, be sure to indicate that at the time of registration. If you are doing so, we encourage you to come by the shop BEFORE class day to familiarize yourself with the machine.
